<p>Funeral services for Otho W. LaMar, of Marlow, will be held at 10:00 AM at the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, with David Hale officiating. Burial will be at the Duncan Cemetery under the direction of Whitt Funeral Home in Duncan.<br> <br> Otho passed from this life on November 22, 2022 in Oklahoma City at the age of 87. Otho was born on November 12, 1935 in Cyril, Oklahoma to William Roy and Sarah Melinda (Wright) LaMar.<br> <br> Otho graduated from Anadarko High School with the Class of 1953 and went on to earn a degree in agronomy from Oklahoma State University, formerly known as Oklahoma A&amp;M. Otho married his loving wife, Emma Marie Allison, in 1957 in Anadarko. She preceded him in death in May of 2006.<br> <br> Otho was a man of knowledge and many achievements, a man that loved his land, farming and serving his country proudly in the United States Army Reserves for more than 30 years. Anything that he did was with great pride if it was working many years for the US Department of Agriculture, Soil, Conversation Services or just working late hours to get a crop in the field, he was the man for the job. Otho was a great friend and mentor to many farmers and ranchers in the community. He was passionate about his registered black angus cattle operation and his dog, Elizabeth. Otho served on different boards and committees throughout Stephens County, one being the Stephens County District #5 Rural Water Board, as well as supporting many local and state agriculture programs. He was an avid Oklahoma State fan, especially basketball, and enjoyed going to games when possible. Otho was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.<br> <br> Otho is survived by his son, Carl Oran LaMar and wife Maria of Bray; granddaughter, Sarah Elena LaMar of Oklahoma City; sister, Rose Fay Patterson and husband Vester of Arlington, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as a very special best friend, Debbie Lynn Benton of Marlow.<br> <br> He was preceded in death by his wife, two sisters, and three brothers.<br> <br> Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron Bratcher, Jason Benton, Kelly Burge, Tom Heinrich, R.B. LaMar, and Larry Coleman. Honorary pallbearers will be Vester Patterson, John Pewthers, and Heath Hammert.<br> <br> Memorial contributions can be made in his honor to the OSU Foundation, 400 S. Otho passed from this life on November 22, 2022 in Oklahoma City at the age of 87. Otho was born on November 12, 1935 in Cyril, Oklahoma to William Roy and Sarah Melinda (Wright) LaMar.
