Edward Butler Sr. was born on May 18, 1942, in Darling, MS to the late Dan Butler Sr. and the late Ocia Bell Davis. He departed this life on Friday, September 24, 2021, at home surrounded by his family.

He was a graduate of Edward Drummond Libby High School in 1961. He retired from Tecumseh Products (Acklin Stamping) in the late nineteen eighties, Edward loved watching sports and listening to blues music (every day if he could, except Sundays). He loved spending time with his family, grandkids, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dan Butler Sr., stepfather, James O. Davis Sr., mother, Ocia Bell Davis, stepmother, Isabell Butler, brothers: Dan Butler Jr., Robert Butler, Charles Davis, Oscar Davis, William (Bill) Davis, and Leroy Davis; sisters: Mattie Jackson and Clara Davis Dawkins.

Edward is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, June L. Butler; daughter, Stephanie L. Butler Hernandez (Richard), son, Edward (Jody) Butler Jr., daughter, Stacie M. Butler; grandchildren: Bradley Hendricks Jr., RaShawn Hernandez (Kamarie), Ramar Butler, Aneyah Hernandez (Tyrone), Gregory Strode, Ramonte Butler, Marstajah McIntoush, Markeese McIntoush, Marianna McIntoush, and Raylin Jacobs; great-grandchildren: Jai’Denn Hendricks, Riley Hernandez, Tyus Johnson, and Kennadi Hendricks; brothers and sisters: James L. Davis (Mattie), Mae Onie (Mary) Shaw (Theodore), Thelma Whitehead, Cleoptha (Doc) Davis, Ruth Jones (Billy), Alice Figgs (William), Samuel Davis (Wendy), Victoria Butler, Rosetta Fluker, and Johnny Davis (Rose); aunts: Cleotha (Cleo) Johnson, and Esther (Tootsie) Moore; nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, special niece/bonus daughter, Sonya Allen; and best friend William H.
