Tina Terry Obituary

Ms. Tina Terry

A good woman went home to be with the Lord. Ms. Tina Marie (Cheatham) Terry, age 61, of Toledo, OH passed away peacefully, Tuesday, September 22, 2021. Tina was born October 15, 1959, in Monroe, Michigan to Thomas Hardaway and Cecelia Ann (Cheatham) Moore who preceded her in death.

Tina was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She spent many of her formative years in Monroe, Michigan before moving to Toledo, Ohio where she graduated from Scott High School in 1977. She had a great appreciation for creative expression including music, dance, poetry, and song writing. She was a caring person and could not just walk by someone suffering or in need of a word of encouragement. An asset to her community, Tina had a heart for helping the elderly and struggling mothers. She was a woman of faith who valued prayer, diligently studied the bible, and loved her 90’s gospel music. Tina was a member of Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist church and retired from the Chrysler Toledo Assembly plant after 32 years of hard work. Tina was known for her strength and determination.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children Laron Gregory, Javohna (Felix) Turkson, and JW (Tiffany) Terry III; and her wonderful grandchildren; Laron Perron, Amir Gregory, Aesi Turkson, Kobin Turkson, Jupiter Terry, Jahuri Terry, and Jaia Terry. Tina is also survived by her beloved aunt, Mildred Frances (Cheatham) Stringer; dear brothers, Eric Cheatham and Thomas (Randy) Cheatham; beloved sisters, Shawne Goins, Marcia Clark, Karen Franklin, and Lynne (Epps) White; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Family and friends may gather at 9:00 a.m for the wake followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at House of Day Funeral Service, 2550 Nebraska Ave. Toledo, Ohio. Lastly at 12:30 Tina will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park, 13200 S. Dixie Hwy, La Salle, Michigan.
