Cynthia Elaine Burns-Bolton Toledo, Ohio Obituary

Cynthia Elaine Burns-Bolton

Cynthia (Mama Lou) Elaine Burns passed peacefully with her daughter at bedside at Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio on Friday, September 3rd at the age of 62.

Cynthia was born to Lee Ware and Castine Clark on March 8, 1959 in Shreveport, Louisiana. After graduating from C.E. Byrd High School and attending Southern University for a short time, she went on to become an operator at BellSouth Telecommunications.

Cynthia was a very spiritual, strong, God fearing woman, beautiful inside and out. She was a long time member of Bryant’s Temple Church of God in Christ and also an avid reader of Joyce Meyers’ Daily Devotional.

Being born and raised is Shreveport, Louisiana, Cynthia took a liking to good “southern” home cooked food and could whip up a delicious meal in no time. She devoted her time and energy to her being everyone’s “Mama Lou”. If you were ever in need, she was there. Whether it was a place to stay or a good home cooked meal, she was your girl!

She was a fiercely dedicated mom to all of her children, and a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren. She enjoyed shopping with her grandbabies, cooking seven days a week, 3 meals a day, and being the “glue” to her family unit. She was always around to lend a listening ear with an open and encouraging heart. She had the ability to help you work through any problem, and would give the BEST advice. Some of the things she reminded us to do on a nightly basis were to “Say your prayers”, “Lock your doors and windows” and “be careful”.

God and family came first, and above all else to Mama Lou. This was a value that she instilled in all of those around her. The hole left by her absence will be impossible to fill.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her mom Castine Clark, aunt Gloria Jean Henderson, and cousin Debra Ann Foster.

Cynthia leaves to cherish her wonderful life: Father: Lee Walter Ware; husband; Rickie Bolton of Toledo, Oh; Her three children: Sekethia Diggs, Lasheka Diggs (Dawon), Jason Bolton (Alisha) ;Eleven grandchildren Sanieka, Terrell, LaShar, Rakia, Keshara, Malakhi, Jason Jr., Stephen, Journee, Alayah, JoSiah and one great grandchild Ashon Jr; special nephew Tremell Foster; Brothers: Marcus Ware of Shreveport, Louisiana and Robert Ware of Oakland, California and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
