Queen Roddy Obituary

Queen Elizabeth Roddy was born on Friday August 18, 1939 to Bishop William H. Coleman, Sr. and Mother Olivia Coleman. She departed this life on Saturday, August 28, 2021 and is now in the arms of the Lord.


Queen lived up to her name by being a woman of elegant style and grace. Queen graduated from the University of Toledo with her Master's degree in education. She worked for many years as an elementary teacher. She also worked as a Phlebotomist at the Plasma Center.


Queen displayed her gifts and talents through cooking, sewing, gardening and caring for her children and family. Queen was affectionately known by her children and grandchildren as ab excellent nurturer and caregiver.


Queen was known by many as a prankster. She found great joy in making others laugh. Queen especially loved Thanksgiving and Christmas and looked forward to spring-time with the family and friends during the holidays. In her later years Queen loved to reminisce on all the good times she shared with her loved ones over the years.

Queen wanted the very best for her family and would do anything to make it possible. She will be deeply missed for her love, leadership, and guidance.


Queen is preceded in death by her parents Bishop William H. Coleman, Sr. and Olivia Coleman; brother, William H. Coleman, Jr.; sister, Emma Jean Anderson; son, Damon L. Coleman; daughter, Danita C. Roddy; grandson, DeVaunte "Will Will" O'Neil.


She leaves to Cherish her loving memory, her oldest daughter, Deborah (Keith) Brown; brother, John A. Coleman; sister, Wilma L. (James) Anderson; grandchildren, great grandchildren one great great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
