Mr. Robert “Mack” Sawyer, 58, of Toledo, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 8, 2021, in hospice. He was born in Oregon, Ohio to the union of Willie Ed Sr. and Eloise R. Sawyer.

Mack was driven and loved making money. He worked lots of odd jobs growing up and realized working for someone was not what he wanted. Mack then decided to become his own boss and became an entrepreneur. Mack opened a pawn/thrift shop on the corner of Sylvania and Lewis from 2001 until 2011. He relocated to a store with more space on Sylvania and stayed in business up to the time of his illness.

Mack was loved by many and enjoyed entertaining. In his pastime, he loved watching sports (especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and Michigan Wolverines), debating, singing, watching movies, “attempting” to cook (inside joke), breakdancing, and talking “big” smack.

Mack is preceded in death by his father, Willie Ed. Sawyer Sr.; daughter, Breanna Banner, grandson, Jovontai Highsmith, Jr.

He is survived by a loving mother, Eloise R. (Elliot) Sawyer; sons, Robert Moore, Robert Sawyer II (Tattoo Rob), Robert Mack Sawyer Jr., Jovontai Highsmith, Santana Coleman, Jason Sanderson, Montre Davis, Tylamar Reese; daughters, Angel Sawyer, Santoria Sawyer, Alison Sanderson, Amber Sawyer, KeShauna Jackson, Destini Sawyer, Katie Thoman; 18 grandchildren; brothers, Willie Ed. Sawyer II (Karen), Fred E. Sawyer (Darlene), Ronald L. Sawyer, Bryant Roosevelt (Angela); sisters, Dena Jamison (Ed), AbbieGenius Sawyer, Katherine Roe (Todd), Joya Sawyer, and a host of other loving relatives, friends, and associates.
