Lula M Martin

Lula Mae (McKinney) Martin was the 3rd of 6 children born to Matthew McKinney Sr. and Mary Alice (Hill) McKinney born on Feb. 28th, 1937’ in Geneva, Alabama. Lula was a proud graduate of ‘Geneva Colored High School’ in Geneva, Alabama in 1955’.She married her lifelong friend and Love, James H. Martin on Feb. 17, 1956’ and from this union 5 children were born; Daphne G. Martin (deceased), Pamela D. (Martin) Sparks, Ron S. Martin, Darick G. Martin and Marichal Martin (deceased). Lula and James moved to Toledo, Ohio in 1966’ and expanded their family to include: Son-In-Law, Raymond L. Sparks, husband of Pamela Martin and their daughter, Simone P. Sparks. Daughter-N-Laws; Cynthia R. (Logan) Martin, wife of Ron Martin along with their two children: Son, Shaun J. Martin and Daughter, ShaRon J. Martin and Valerie (Hawthorne) Martin, wife of Darick Martin along with their two daughters: Kari L. Martin along with her fiancé, JaCarvis Bailey and their two daughters: Payton N. Bailey and Karsyn J. Bailey, and Daphne N. (Martin) Riley and her husband, Demone R. Riley, Lula was not only a loving Mother and wife, but she was also an excellent seamstress and cook preparing mouth watering meals and stylish apparel for both her family and friends.

She also leaves to mourn her; loving sister, Lynn (McKinney) Jones, brothers; James E. McKinney and Jim McKinney. brother-n-law, TellisJones and sister-n-laws: Pearl McKinney and Mary McKinney, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
