Vincent A. Long

<p>Vincent A. Long, age 69, of Blythewood, SC, formerly of Glen Rock, NJ died unexpectedly on October 15, 2022.&nbsp; Born in Lancaster, PA, in 1953, he had been a resident of Glen Rock prior to moving to Blythewood, SC, four years ago.&nbsp; Vincent was a loving father, brother, and uncle. </p><p>He grew up in Lancaster, PA and attended St. Anthony grammar school and graduated in 1970 from Lancaster Catholic High School.&nbsp; During high school he was very active in sports, and student government.&nbsp;&nbsp; Vincent went on to continue his studies and graduated from LaSalle University with a BS in Accounting, Drexel University with an MBA, and later Fairleigh Dickinson University with an MST, International Taxation (certificate).&nbsp; &nbsp; </p><p>Vincent was a dynamic, progressive CPA tax professional providing extensive experience in global taxation.&nbsp; Over the course of his career, he was an entrepreneur starting several companies as well as providing his expertise to multinational corporations. </p><p>While residing in Glen Rock, Vince could be found at the baseball field, football field, or basketball court, either helping coach, referee, or cheering on his son.&nbsp; He was an avid golfer who could always be found enjoying a good round of golf in his spare time. </p><p>He was a former parishioner of St. Catharine’s RC Church, Glen Rock.&nbsp; Vincent is survived by his loving son, Andrew V. Long of Glen Rock and his two sisters; Tina Gulick and her husband, Roger of Columbia, PA and Anne Mavrides and her husband, John of Lancaster, PA.&nbsp; He is also survived by his nieces and nephew; Mac, Pam, Lisa, and Mike. He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Rose Long.&nbsp; </p><p>The family will receive friends on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, &nbsp;www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ.&nbsp; Prayers will begin at 9:00 am on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Catharine’s RC Church, 905 S. Maple Avenue, Glen Rock, NJ.&nbsp; Vincent will be laid to rest at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Lancaster, PA.&nbsp; As an expression of sympathy, donations in Vincent’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p>

I only knew Vincent by passing by his house while walking. He was alway friendly and normally doing some yard work or just enjoying a nice day for golf for just hanging out in the sun. He was a good man and I will miss his smile and kindness. May your familiy find peace ... Continue Reading
