Verienece Frazier was born on May 30, 1932, in Greenwood, Mississippi to her proud and loving parents, Jesse Washington and Helen Jones-Washington who both preceded her in death. She was the second eldest of 16 children and the oldest girl. The family relocated to Lima, Ohio where Verienece graduated from South High School in 1953.

After graduation, she moved to Columbus, Ohio and was employed as the head baker for the Ohio State University. She would later marry the love of her life, Albert B. Frazier, on September 6, 1967 and relocate to Toledo, Ohio. Together they lovingly raised six children: Dennis, Nathan, James, Calvin, Bryan and Pamela.

Verienece gave her live to Christ at an early age. She always shared with others that, “Jesus was the best thing to ever happen to me!” She lived and governed her life by the Word of God. She was a faithful and instrumental member of Bethel Apostolic Temple in Toledo, Ohio for 30 years under the pastorate of the late Emeritus Pastor Ernest Cross and the late Pastor Eldridge Levey. While she served well on numerous committees, she took great pride as Head of the Usher Board and a prayer warrior on the Intercessory Prayer Team. Verienece was also a Christian teacher. She taught Sunday School and along with her husband, she taught classes for married couples.

In January 2000, she transferred her membership to Cornerstone Church in Maumee, Ohio under the leadership of Bishop Michael Pitts, where she faithfully served as a Greeter and a member of the Intercessors.

She was known by many names. Some called her Vera while others called her Big Sis, Niece, or Verniece. Whatever the name, she was a jewel of a woman; beautiful inside and out. Her grace, wisdom, and spirit of excellence cloaked a woman of great strength and talents. She was a seamstress; she loved to sew retail quality outfits for herself and others. She was an artist and a sculptor. Many also knew of her construction skills. She would often be found building; repurposing; tearing down and adding on to her home. She was an amazing and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She took great pride in her family and was always there for anyone who needed her.

Verienece was received by her Father in Heaven on Monday, March 22, 2021 at her home in Maumee, Ohio. Her daughter Pamela had the privilege to serve as an usher, embracing her mother’s earthly body as her spirit transitioned to her heavenly home.

Verienece is preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Albert B. Frazier; sons, Dennis Frazier, James Frazier, and Nathan Camper; sisters, Doris Washington and Mary Luster; brothers, Frank Washington, Jessie Washington and Anthony Washington.

She leaves a legacy of strength, grace, and the spirit of excellence along with loving memories to be cherished to her sons, Bryan Camper and Calvin (Janet) Frazier of Toledo, OH; her daughter and caregiver for 11 years, Pamela Camper of Maumee, OH; eight grandchildren, Thomas, Nicci, Tifarah (aka Tye), Chela, Torey, James Jr., Cleopatra, and Calvin (aka Tubby) Jr.; and 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Geneva McCoullogh (Eldria aka Mac) of Freedom, PA, Temple Washington-Patrick of Lima, OH, Sharon Washington and Patricia Washington, both of Atlanta, GA; brothers, Wesley Washington (Betty) of Atlanta, GA, Curtis Washington of Akron, OH, Edward Washington and Carl Washington, both of Los Angeles, CA, Ulysses ‘Lish’ Washington (Maria) of Ada, OH, Samuel Washington (Elizabeth) of Las Vegas, NV,; god-daughter and son, Robin and Jeffery Ross; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ
