<p>Maxine (Hughes Henderson, 84 departed this life on Thursday January 28, 2021, after a short illness in The NW Ohio Hospice of Toledo. Maxine was born on January 2, 1937 in St Louis, Mo. to the union of Edward and Louetta Hughes, Sr. Proceeded in death by her grand parents Napolean Sundy and Lillian Thompson. She attended St Bridgets of Erin, catholic school St Louis, Mo.</p><p><br></p><p>In early 50's she moved to Toledo, Ohio with family members David and Villa Patton. Eventually and sometimes spent time in Swanton on the farm. Maxine learned how to can food, vegetables and jelly. Maxine's attend Jesup W. Scott and Edward Drummond Libbey High Schools.</p><p>A faithful follower of Christ, Maxine was a member at St Tereasa, St Ann's Calvary Baptist, New Light Missionary Baptist and finally Thomas Temple.</p><p><br></p><p>In 1961 Maxine united in holy matrimony to the love of her life Howard L. Henderson, Sr., who proceeded her in death. To their union were five children. She was a loving mother and there wasn't anything she wouldn't do for her children and loved ones. Maxine spoke her mind and what she felt. Mom equipped each of us with the ability to navigate obstacles and instilled in us the word, and belief in Jesus Christ - trusting in Him first.</p><p><br></p><p>In the 60's Maxine worked at clean wear and Toledo Towel until she chose to be the stay at home mom. Later in life she worked for Keller Meyer cleaning service until she retired.</p><p>Hobbies and likes Maxine read paperback novels. Worked 500 or 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles. Some of her favorite tv shows Mash, Law and Order Special Victims Unit and Golden Girls, Maxine enjoyed traveling to St Louis, Mo. and "Shy Town" Chicago, Ill.</p><p><br></p><p>Maxine was proceeded In death by her brothers Novell Hughes, Richard Hughes and Howard Hughes.</p><p>She leaves to cherish her memories, daughters; Villa Renee Reid, Columbus, Oh, Kimberly Lee Henderson, Houston Texas, and Cozette Marie Henderson. Columbus, Ohio., sons: Howard Lee Henderson and Ramon Lee Lee Henderson, both of Toledo, Oh, Sisters; Joan Woods and Rita Payne both of St Louis, MO, brothers; Edward Hughes, Jr. (Luke), St Louis, Mo. and Loren (Pauline) Hughes (Chubby) of Ripley Tenn., 11 grand children, 16 great grand children, 4 great great grand children and a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends.</p>
