Obituary
Son of Chimanlal and Taraben. Husband to Chitra Shah. Father to children Hetal (Rakhi), Prital (Sapna) and Priya. Beloved grandfather to Anjali, Aditya and Anish.
Born and raised in Vadodara, India and Mumbai, India Mahendra came to the U.S. in 1962 to attend the University of Louisville. He traveled to the U.S. by boat, train and plane in a three month, seven country journey. He then transferred to Tri-State University where he completed his Bachelors in Science in Mechanical and Chemical Engineering in 1965. After starting his engineering career, four years later he returned to India and married Chitra on February 3, 1969. Together, they traveled to the U.S. in June 1969 and settled in Norristown, Pennsylania. Opportunities led them to live in many states as their family grew, and over the years they made lifelong friends in every location. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends; he deeply cherished those relationships. His love of food, reading, and music was everlasting and he lovingly shared these interests with his children and grandchildren.
He was a kind, loving father, husband and grandfather and he will be greatly missed.
