Joel Louise Turner Obituary

Dearly beloved but now departed, Joel Louise Turner, will be sorely missed by Myriad, friends and family.

Born December 9, 1971, to welcoming parents, Linda Cummings and Curtis Turner, deceased.

Joel was baptized at an early age and was active in True Vine Missionary Baptist Church. She sang in the choir, participated on the Youth Usher Board and Sunday School.

Joel ran cross country at DeVilbiss High School, where she graduated from in 1990.

She recently was employed with the Toledo Public School System and Clean Care. Joel worked at Bax Global until the company closed, she made many, many friends and participated in all of the company's outings and events.

Gathering the neighborhood children was one of her favorite activities. She did it just because. She liked to see her children bond with their friends and keeping them all out of trouble.

Joel loved to cook for anyone who came over and her favorite dish to cook was Friendship Bread. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading books and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Curtis Turner, grandparents, Sam and Kathleen Harvey and Curtis and Mabel Barnett.

Joel leaves to mourn the loss of the captivating shy smile that lit up her eyes, children, Brandon Turner and Brijette Smith; mother, Linda Cummings; brother, Attila Turner; grandchildren, Ariana and Amir Turner; niece, Shavonda (Vonnie) Johnson; and great niece, A'Mayah Johnson.
