Joe E. Curry

<p>Joe Earl Curry was born April 7th, 1952 to Joseph and Dorlean Curry in Fort Wayne, In. He was the oldest if 6 siblings. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Pilgrim Baptist Church.</p><p>He was a graduate of Southside HS in 1970. He attended, Indiana U, Central State and Findley College in Ohio, Academic All-American and a member of the Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities.</p><p>He joined the United States Army, Honorable discharge, HHC, 1 Battalion, 503d Infantry, 101st Airborne Division , Ft Campbell, Ky. Court reporter for 3rd Brigade, Parachute Instructor for 46th Company, Ft Benning, Ga. Recipient of numerous awards and commendations. Good Conduct Medal, Expert Rifle (M16), Marksman, Army Commendation Medal and Parachute Badge</p><p>He was employed at Chrysler/Jeep for 10yrs, retiring in 2009</p><p>Joe was a long time member of Southern Missionary Baptist Church. He later united with Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev Clifford L Mayes. He served as a Deacon and Church Secretary. Deacon Curry loved his entire church family, always inspiring the members and assisting them in their time of need. Deacon Curry was a Sunday school teacher and always had a way of bringing humor to his classes.</p><p>He had a passion for photography and he took photos almost everywhere he went.</p><p>Joe Curry is survived by his wife of 29yrs, Melody, his children, Jason (New York), Joseph, (Ft Hood, Tx), Shayla (Atlanta, Ga) Shanica (Toledo, Oh) and a Precious grandson, Kenneth Joseph affectionately known as (KJ)</p><p>His mom Dorlean, sister Sheila Campbell, and a host of loving nieces and nephews.</p><p>He is preceded in death by his father Joseph Curry, his brothers, James and Tommy and sisters Josephine Irby and Debra K Brown</p>
