Virgie Lee Moton Obituary

Virgie Lee Moton was born in Ruleville, Mississippi, On June 10, 1946 to the late Tommy Lee Allen and Louise Tennie, and got her wings on July 26, 2016. She was the eldest of 6 children.


Virgie attended elementary school in Chicago, Illinois and attended Jesup W. High School. After high school, she worked at Inverness Country Club for several years.


Virgie was married to the late Ernest Moton, and to their union, 4 children were born, Cynthia, Thomas, Johnny and Lamont Moton.


Virgie loved to travel throughout the many states, especially Mississippi, where she would enjoy the company of many relatives. She was an avid fisherman. She possessed many cooking skills and had some favorite menus, such as chicken and dumplings, and "hot pots", which many of the family members enjoyed. She loved her family and was very caring with sharing with others what she was blessed with. She enjoyed listening to the blues.


Virgie was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy Lee Allen, Louise Taylor and Willie Roy Taylor, daughter, Cynthia Moton, sister, Emma Taylor, and husband, Ernest Moton.


Virgie leaves to mourn her memory, sons, Thomas, Johnny, and Lamont Moton; brother, Elmore Taylor; 3 sisters, Bobbie Woods, Diana and Elaine Taylor; grandchildren, Trudy, Antonia, Teairra, Darricka, Star, Thomas, Marcus, Keeaunte, Seantia, Swantwan, Kamil; 2 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
