Louise Moss Obituary

Our condolence and prayers to the Moss family. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Woodward High School, 701 E. Central Ave. Louise Moss (nee' Robinson) was born on January 5, 1954. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of June 17, 2016. She was born in New Madrid, Missouri and moved to Toledo, Ohio with her family when she was fourteen. She was heavily involved in the church and devoted to Christ. Louise was employed by Hunt's before she was able to perform a craft that showed off her true gift: loving and caring for others. Being the oldest of originally 20 children, this was a role and skill that Louise already excelled at. She began this journey when she became primary caretaker of her mother, Willie Mae. She later became a foster mother for multiple youth. She eventually decided that wasn't a good fit for her, and went into childcare, providing that care at 'Our First Love, LLC. Louise loved her job . So much to the point it was difficult to convince her to retire. Even in retirement, Louise continued to provided care anywhere she could in any way she could. Louise was an ordained minister. She was a woman who truly loved the Lord. All through her life, Louise found ways to show off her love for Christ. She would put together plays every Christmas and Easter and whenever the spirit would lead her to do so. When her children, nieces and nephews were children, she gave each of them a special song and they made their on choir. She repeated this with her grandchildren from the moment she held them in her arms. As a lover of music as well, you could always catch Louise humming or singing a tune herself. She radiated joy in spite of all the pain she had endured. She was not a woman who was easily, if ever, conquered. All of her children inherited her innately goofy sense of humor as well as her enormous, gorgeous smile. If you ever spent more than 5 minutes with Louise, it was always guaranteed you'd leave either laughing or thinking heavily. Sometimes a bit angrily. She had a way of getting straight to the point and sometimes bypassing the filter between her mouth and brain, but it was always done with love as the motive. There was not a more competitive person you could have found in her family than Louise. She loved to play games. It really didn't matter the kind, but her favorites were uno and dominoes with phase10 recently joining the list. She wopuld sit a the table playing dominoes with her mother, cousins, siblings, children and grandchildren. She taught a few of grandchildren the art of cheating and it was definitely a treat to watch when they would begin arguing about who's the real cheater. It was not a uncommon thing to walk into her house and just hear music going while there was laughing and goodhearted arguing coming from the kitchen. Though she was quite the laugher, Louise also had this look that would freeze a man right in his steps. She was truly a force to be reckoned with. You knew when she gave you that look, it was best to find a seat somewhere outside was probably the safest bet. She was a firm believer of tough love; heavy on the though, double heavy on the love. Her greatest desire, besides spending eternity with the Lord, was for all of family to be saved.
