Robert Louis Jackson made his transition from this life to the next on January 31, 2015 in Sylvania, OH. He was born in Almo, Kentucky, December 29, 1943 to the late Hughes and Vernell Jackson whom with brother Adolphus and nephew Laurant “Chip” preceded him in death. Robert obtained his formal education in the Toledo Public School System, and graduated from Jesup W. Scott High School. He attended Central State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He also attended Bowling Green State University where he received a Masters Degree in Education. He worked in the Toledo Public School System as a teacher and assistant principal at Glenwood Elementary School for several years and then moved to Los Angeles, California to work with his uncle and took on the position of Vice President of Acudata Systems Incorporated. Following his tenure with Acudata, Robert held a position with the Rockwell International Program Office where he worked on the B1Bomber program. In 1990 he returned to Toledo where he worked for the Children Services Bureau (CSB). Robert continued substitute teaching in the Springfield and Sylvania School Districts where he was affectionately known by his students as “Mr. Jackson” the “coolest” substitute teacher they ever had. After retiring Robert owned and managed several apartment buildings in The Old West End. He is survived by his sons Robert Jackson Jr., Ryan Jackson, and daughter Ashley Jackson; grandchildren, Rylee Jackson, Rylan Jackson, Alivia Jackson; sister Melinda (LeRoy) Douglas, sister-in-laws, Carol Jackson, Barbara (Michael) Kirkland and nephew Andre Jackson. Former spouses, Angela Jackson Wilder and Pamela Jackson. Great nieces; great nephew and a host of cousins and very dear friends. Special friend and brother Robert Osby and all of his loving brothers and sisters from Central State University. Service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Warren AME. Service starts at 1:00pm with a wake at 12:00pm.
