Harry David Broughton

It is with a heavy heart. The family has to announce the passing of Harry David Broughton in his 90th year. Harry was a social butterfly, and always loved to tell a story of the glory years. Born in North Walsingham, Ontario to a farming family, he learned how to become a “Jack of all trades” from driving truck in his early years to building his first house in Langton and then on to owning his own farm in Port Burwell, where he grew tobacco from 1966 and other cash crops until his moved into Tillsonburg just a few short years ago. Harry was predeceased by his first wife Rosalie (1985) and his second wife Patricia (2005). Harry was a loving father to Becky Paget and her husband Terry, David Broughton and his wife Karie. Loving stepfather to Mark Belbeck (Joanne), Randy Belbeck and his wife Anna and Scott Belbeck and his wife Kelly. Proud grandfather to Carrie and her husband Tim, Jeffery and his wife Amy, Jennifer and her husband Robel, Amanda, Jannen, Sarah, Marissa, Joshua and his wife Kaitlynn, and Karlina. Great grandfather to Gabriella and Kaleb. Harry is survived by his sister Pearl Lyne, his sister Treva Lonsbary and his brother Richard Broughton. Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Clara, his sister Jean Montenary, and brothers Bruce Broughton, John Broughton, and Ross Broughton. The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, November 26 from 11 AM until 1 PM. The funeral service for Harry will be held at 1 PM following the visitations. A private family interment will be held at St. Luke’s Cemetery in Vienna following the funeral service.
