W.C. Washington

<p>W.C. "Dub" Washington, passed away peacefully, Monday, June 16, 2014, to join his beloved Dorothy "Doll Baby", under the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo, Ohio. He was born to the union of Booker and Ruby Washington, on July 27, 1941. W.C. enjoyed bowling, playing cards, traveling, sports, politics, and just life itself. W.C. and Dorothy were united in Holy Matrimony, February 10, 1978, in Chicago, IL, she preceded him in death, March 13, 2014. They lived in Chicago for more than 50 years and moved to Toledo, OH, in August 2010. W.C. worked at AVHQ as a truck driver for over 30 years. He graduated from Northern High School, Flint, MI, in 1960, where he was a star football player. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Anthony Washington, brother, L.C. Fox, sisters, Elnora Miller, Elmira Holmes, Mattie Brazil, and Ruby McFadden. He leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Luther Bennett-Washington and Patrick Washington; sister, Dorothy "Dot Jean" Washington; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and special friend, Vernon Rorie, and other relatives and friends. Special caregivers, niece, Brenda Washington; nephew, Marcus (Abdus Salaam) Ewing; niece and nephew, Vanessa and Donald Lynn. Special thanks to the staff at Toledo Hospital and especially the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, for their kind and compassionate care of our beloved W.C. W.C. was loved and will never be forgotten. Services are 2:00 pm Saturday, June 21, 2014, preceded by Wake services at 1:00 pm at The House of Day Funeral Home.</p>
