Ruben William Heard, AKA, "R.W.", 77, passed away December 11, 2012, in Heartland Holly Glen. He was born March 16, 1935, in Spring Creek, GA. He met and married Willie Ruby Lancaster in Toledo, Ohio 49 1/2 years ago. He was a honorably discharged Veteran serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Madison Brothers Transport after 33 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Rilla Heard; 2 brothers, Robert and Johnny Heard, and one sister, Kate Walker. Surviving are Ruby Lancaster Heard, who he was married to for 49 1/2 years; sons, Ruben Heard II, Lamarr Moton, Carl, Dells, and Ellsworth; daughters, Cassandra Grayson, Chattanooga, TN, Beverly Evelyn, Felicia, Germain, and Ruby; brothers, James, of Atlanta, and Glover Heard, of San Leandro, CA; sisters, Mary Turner, Detroit, and Ophelia Kent, of Atlanta; and a host of other grandchildren great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
