James Strong

<p>James Edward Strong slept away onto the Lord November 2, 2012. Brother Strong was born to Samuel and Allie Strong on February 16, 1938, in Lawtey, Fl. He moved to Toledo when he was 16 yrs old. He graduated from Scott High School in 1958. James received an Associate’s degree in Business from the University of Toledo. James was an entrepreneur and loved driving semis. He owned and operated K &amp; B Wrecking, Strong Trucking, and a Texaco Gas Station. He sub-contracted his business out to Pierce Construction and the Bellevue Trucking Company. Brother strong received Christ in his life at a young age. He was an active member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. He took great pride in being over the Bus Ministry for many years. He served on the Usher board and Trustee board. </p><p> James loved going out to eat with his family and friends. His favorite was seafood restaurants. He also loved spending time in the kitchen preparing meals for others. He truly loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and family. </p><p><br></p><p> He was proceeded in death by his father, Samuel Strong; mother, Allie Strong; brothers, Dr. Samuel E. Strong and Roger C. Strong; sisters, Mildred Hogan; Linnie B. Bearfield; nephews, William Hogan and Jerome Hogan.</p><p> James is survived by his ex-wife, Beatrice Strong; son, Don (Delores) Strong; daughter, Renee (Richard) Bowen; grandchildren, Chandra Maddox of Atlanta, Don (Melissa) Grathwol of Cleveland, Monique Lawrence, Edward Strong of Michigan, D’Ante Strong-Bowen; 4 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Patricia Strong; nephews, Clyde (Birdie) Hogan, Kenneth Strong, Kevin Strong and Richard Strong; nieces, Karen Strong and Yolanda Strong; and best friend, Pastor William Gary; a host of great nieces, and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. </p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p> Service will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 11:00am, preceded by a wake at 10:00am at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 701 Vance St.</p>
