Carrie Bell Murphy-Jones was born in Attala County, Mississippi on June 17, 1919 to Albert and Katie Murphy. Carrie went home to glory on Sunday, September 30, 2012. Carrie was proceeded by her father and mother; sons William Howard and James Herbert Johnson; sister Irene, Katie, Evelyn, and Roxie; brothers James, Willie C., and Albert Murphy. Carrie loved to fish and was a great cook. She was a woman of great faith and she truely loved the Lord. Her legacy spanned over five generations. Her joyous legacy will be remembered by her children; daughters Modene Jackson, Carol Johnson and Marie (James) Ham; son Herman Johnson Jr. (Cali) and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at Union Grove Baptist Church on Friday, Oct. 5th. at 1:00pm, with a wake starting a hour earlier at 12:00pm. Services by the House of Day Funeral Service.
