Lon C. Woodard Obituary

Lon C. Woodard, Sr., age 85, passed away on February 21, 1927, at his home in Sylvania. Born in Mounds, Illinois to Everett Woodard and Eula (Tucker) Woodard, Lon moved to Toledo as a small child. He attended Chase Elementary School, Scott High School, and Davis Business College. Lon served in the United States Army from 1945 to 1947, returning to Toledo after his service in the military. Lon was employed for several years by the Army, in a civilian capacity, working first at Rossford Ordinance Depot and later at Erie Proving Grounds. Lon was retired from BP Oil, where he worked more than 30 years. Lon was an avid bowler and enjoyed traveling with his late brother, Oscar. Lon is survived by his loving wife, Maebelle; son, Lon Woodard, Jr.; daughter, Andrea Ogden; grandsons, Lon Q. Woodard and Wayne Braddy; great-grandson, Amiri Woodard; sisters, Emily (John) Whitlow and Latonya Parker; and a host of other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Charvette D. Woodard Braddy; his brother, Oscar Woodard; and his parents, Everett and Eula Woodard.
