Dorothy Glenn Battle, was born January 31, 1932 in McIntosh County, Georgia to Charlies Glenn and Mary E. Glenn, both of whom preceded her in death. Left here to be home with the Lord on March 23, 2012 in Hospice of N. W. Ohio.

Dorothy was a nurse’s aide in Mercy Hospital of Florida, a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she served as a mother and a member of the choir. Dorothy was a foster mother to many children for many years, she loved to Knit, crochet and go to bingo. She was always available to lend a hand or shoulder when needed, to all who called her friend. She will be loved and missed.

She leaves to cherish her memories, children; Timothy Battle and Theresa Jones; sisters, Pearl Graydon, Mary Johnson, Verdell Walker, Annabelle Thomas and Niece King; grandchildren, Dorothy B. Jones, Brandon Jones-Starks, Rock’o Jones, Justin and Alyssa Battle; great grandchildren, Jonathon R., Jordan R., and Rock’O III Jones, Melanie Starks and Melvin Starks Jr.

Services are 11am Friday, March 30, 2012 preceded by wake services starting at 10:00am at The House of Day Funeral Home.
