Obituary
Mrs. Lillie Pearl Howard went home to be with the Lord on February 1, 2012. Born on May 16, 1922 in Andalusia, AL, to Thomas and Velma (Crittendon) Ward, she received her formal education in Alabama and later lived in Florida and Newark, NJ until settling in Toledo, OH. She retired from the Toledo - Lucas Public Library. She was a "Joyful Soul" who inspired all whom she met. Her most cherished contribution was as a diligent servant of the Lord. She served as President of the Usher boards for Holiness Temple for 10 years and for New Hopewell C.O.G.I.C. for 30 years. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Mr. Gaylon Howard and all siblings except for her beloved brother, Mr. Perry Lee Ward. She leaves to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy of joyfulness, her brother, Perry; a special goddaughter, Ethel Green; a special nephew, Bishop Marvin D. Crittenden and a special niece, Shirlene Crittendon, all of Toledo, OH; a special niece, Alice Ann Smith of Ft. Pierce, FL and a global host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation is 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Thursday, February 9 and the wake and funeral is 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Friday, February 10 at the House of Day Funeral Service.
