Henry Ricks Obituary

Henry Albert Ricks, Jr. 75, went on to glory on Dececember 17, 2011 at the UT Medical College. He was born on February 23, 1936 in Toledo, OH to the late Henry A. Ricks Sr. and Naomi McNeill. Henry graduated from Woodward high school. He was an alumni of Tennessee State, where he played Baseball. From there Henry joined the Air Force.

Henry worked for Dana Corporation for over 20 years as a laboror. He was also employeed with Tarta , the University of Toledo and Lucas County Transportation. He was a member of True Vine Missionary Baptist church under the pastorage of Pastor Melvin Barnes. He was an avid debater, serious Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fan and loved to master the grill. He believed in education and made sure his family got good grades, he loved jazz music and playing “ Name That Tune” with his girls.

Henry was preceded in death by both parents.

He leaves to cherish his memorories wife Sharon, daughters, Dimitra Peters-Hollins of Toledo, Jeanine Ricks of Lawrenceville, GA, Janell Guynes (Kenneth) of Saginaw, MI, and Jo’Nette Fouse (Kevin) of Saginaw, MI. Grandchildren, Jerrel, Armmon, Jerrad, J’Nai, David, Kevin Jr., Dyondra and Jaden. Brothers, Steve Ricks and Kenny (Debra) Ricks both of Toledo, OH. Special family friends, Joyce, Doloris, Yolanda and a host of other family and friends.


Service will be held Friday at 12:00pm. Wake at 11:00am at the House of Day funeral Service.
