Sandra Pifer Obituary

On Friday, September 2, 2011, in Toledo, Ohio, God's precious child made her journey to her heavenly home. God had promised her that He would never leave nor forsake her, and on Friday, "Sandy", was reminded of that promise, as God took her by the hand and gently welcomed her to eternal rest.


Sandy entered this world on December 10, 1960, in Toledo, Ohio to her parents, Ronald and Silvia Shipp. Her father, sister, Lenora "Tinker" Frazier and brother, John Daniel "Danny" Fitzgerald, preceded her in death. Her beloved husband, Mark Pifer, passed away in June, 2011, after a lengthy illness.


Sandy was educated in Toledo Public Schools, graduating from Scott High School in 1978. In the 1980"s Sandra and her son moved to Monroe, Michigan where where she was employed for many years as a line worker at Modern Packaging Company. She was later unied in marriage to Mark Pifer, and served as a faithful wife until her death.


Sandy enriched many lives and truly loved her family. She was sweet, kind, and always had a smile for everyone that she met. She was dedicated wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, godmother,aunt, cousin, niece and friend to all she encountered throughout her life.


Left to cherish fond and loving memories are, son, Frederick Lavelle Shipp, Sr.; mother, Sylia Shipp-Hawkins; brother, Dennis James (Carla) Braziel, Irving, TX; step-sister, Veronica Shipp; sister-in-laws, Tammy Fitzgerald-Lenga, Toledo, Ohio, Elizabeth (Matthew) Pifer, and Prudy (Paul) Fairchild; grandsons, Frederick Shipp, Jr.,"LV", Monroe, MI and Zahryias Jacobi Shipp-Mays of Toledo, OH; goddaughter,Bethany Pifer, Monroe, MI; former husband and friend, Clifford "Cal" Thornton, Monroe, MI; Special family and friends, Teresa Roberts, Janie Hudson, Tammy Fitzgerald, Lenga, Melony Stevens, Millie Stevens, Clifford Thornton, Stevens family, Pifer family and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, stepchildren, in-laws, cousins and friends.


Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 3:00 pm, preceded by a 2:00pm at the House of Day Funeral Service Chapel.
