Dorothy M. Ridley Obituary

RIDLEY Dorothy M. Dorothy M. Ridley was born on December 29, 1930, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to John Henry and Ora Jane Wilson. She was united in marriage to James Ridley on March 10, 1952, to this union 4 children were born. Dorothy worked at the Inverness Country Club, later she became co-owner and accountant for the family business, Jim Shell Auto Service Station. She graduated from Libbey High School and Moody Bible Institute, Chicago, IL. She also was a student in the Bible Fellowship Study (BSF) for nine years, Dorothy was a shining light in the community and will be missed by all. She is survived by her husband, James; 2 sons, Gerald (Sherri) and James Ridley, Jr.; 2 daughters, Constance Ridley and Kathy (Gregory) Jones; sister, Delores Adams; 2 sisters-in-law, Francis Miller and Willa Mae Young; 22 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both parents; 4 brothers; 2 sisters and granddaughter, Karen. The family would like to acknowledge the Pulmonary staff of Toledo Hospital and all those who supported the family throughout her illness, also Dr. P Fisher, Dr. M. Gordon and Dr. Khahn. Services are Tuesday, May 31, 2011, 9:00am Visitation followed by 10:00am Wake and 11:00am Funeral at Southern Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Lemuel A. Quinn, III, officiant.
