<p>Patricia "Patti" Anne Biela<br> April 2, 1974 - November 20, 2022 </p><p>Patricia "Patti" Anne Biela, 48, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 9:44 a.m. in VNA Hospice Center, Valparaiso. </p><p>Cremation will take place. Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, is handling the arrangements. </p><p>Patti was born April 2, 1974 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Thomas O. and the late Susan T. (Schermerhorn) McGrath. On February 26, 2002, in Las Vegas, Nevada, she married James "Jim" David Biela Sr., who survives. </p><p>Also surviving are her three children, James David Biela, Jr., (15), Charlotte Anne Biela, (13) and Joseph Daniel Biela (8), all of Michigan City; two sisters, Tina McGrath of Michigan City, and Kelley (Mike) Newby of Trail Creek; two brothers, Daniel McGrath and Michael McGrath, both residing out of state; her "Bestie", Katie (Alan) Sobecki of Centerville, OH, who dropped everything to be at her side during her final days; step-parents, Larry and Lydia Davis of Trail Creek; in-laws, David and Claudia Biela of Michigan City; and several cherished nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, as well as a host of friends she treated like family. </p><p>Patti was a wonderful wife and mother. Her greatest accomplishments were her beloved children. Patti made sure she fought her cancer strong and hard for her children while also making some tough decisions to ease things for her husband as her fight ended. Patti was a fun-loving, outgoing person who has left behind memories to be cherished by all who knew her. </p><p>Patti did request a party, so a celebration of her life will take place on February 26, 2023, her wedding anniversary to Jim, the union which created their family. </p><p>Contributions may be made to the family or to the donor’s choice. </p>

Patti and Jim's two sons are best friends with my two sons, and Patti and I had become good friends through the years. Patti, I will continue to watch over your boys (and Charli) and I will love them with all my heart. See you on the other side girl.
