Danny L. Craig Obituary

Deacon Danny Loyd Craig, born October 7, 1949, in Monroe, La., passed away Thursday, April 28, 2011 after a short illness at Toledo Hospital.


Danny was a graduate of Macomber High School. He received an Associate Degree from Davis Business College. He was employed at Libbey Glass in the Engineering Department for 38 years. He was still employed at the time of his illness.


Danny was a long time and faithful member of Mt. Pilgrim Church serving as Secretary of the Deacon’s Ministry.


He was preceded in death by both parents, Loyd and Beulah V. Craig, brother Allen Nicholson and sister Mildred Nicholson.


He leaves to cherish his memory, wife of 37 years, Larcenia Craig, 2 daughters, Sandra Ransom, Kimberly (Demeco) Lewis, all of Toledo, Ohio, sisters: Jacqueline Craig of Chicago, Ill, Pamela Craig (Ernest) Pierce. Brother: Pastor Donald L. Craig of Lompoc, Calif., 4 grandchildren, LaTasha Pettaway, Marquise Ransom, Isaiah Shaffer, Demeco Jayden Lewis. 2 great-grand children, Rayonna Richardson, Kyah Ransom special nephew, Melvin Bryant Craig of Toledo, Ohio, special cousin, Mary Temple, of Phoenix, Ariz. Brother-in-laws, Eddie (Gloria), David (Eula), Theotis Ransom, sister-in-laws, Fannie Ransom, Erma Hill and Shirley Ransom, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.


Danny loved to travel and loved to listen to oldies but goodies R&B music. He loved photography and was an avid sports fan. He was a mentor and great counselor to all those who sought his advice.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 from 7:00 pm - 9:00pm at House of Day Funeral Service.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 11:00am at Mt. Pilgrim Church, preceded by a 10:00 am Wake. Interment Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
