Alex Fountain Obituary

Alex “Al” Fountain, 67, passed away Nov. 25, 2010 at St. Vincent’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Alex retired from Omni-Source Trucking after years of dedicated service. He enjoyed fishing, talking on his C-B, his handle was “Boo-Chicken”, and spending time with his family and church family of St. James Baptist Church.


Alex is survived by, his loving wife of 22years, Mary Fountain; son, Fred Bumpus, Geoffery West, Richard (Rosie) Mesley, Marvin Mesley, and Tommy (Kimberly) Perryman; daughters, Karen (Demarco) Betts, Queen Smith, Nickey (Germaine) Byrd, Darlene Mesley, and Janie Pope; 33 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; brothers, David Fountain, Rev. Richard (Ollie) Fountain and Glen Fountain; sisters, Geraldine Fountain and Joann Mack; aunt, Emma (Gene) Hall; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


Funeral Services are Saturday Dec. 4, 2010 12:00noon at St. James Baptist Church 1520 Hoag St., preceded by 11:00am wake. Visitation services are Friday from 5:00-7:00pm at The House of Day Funeral Services Chapel, please sign register book at
