SIMMONS Estelle Marie Estelle Marie Simmons departed this life on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at home surrounded by her family. Estelle was a dedicated member of The Indiana Avenue Missionary Baptist Church family where she was the former president of the Nurses Guild and served on the Kitchen Committee for many years until her health began to fail. She was born February 20, 1942 in Toledo, Ohio to Homer Jackson and Anna Bell Philpott-Jackson. She is survived by her daughters, Tandria Darlene, Tanya Ann Simmons and Gwennetta (Jermaine) Nelson; sons, Boise, Terrance Simmons and Christopher Dawson; grandchildren, Marlan, Marci and Latasha; great-grandchildren, Jala, Shraun and Laron; brother, James (Charlene) Wyley and Edward Wyley; sisters, Tuylah Tisdale and Lajuan Rice, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, November 15, at the House of Day Funeral Service. Wake service Tuesday at 12 noon followed by Funeral Services at 1:00 at the Indiana Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, officiating Rev. Dr. John E. Roberts.
