David S. “DJ” Joiner , 26, departed this life on Nov. 4, 2010. He attended St. Ann’s parochial grade school, Mt. Vernon and Mc Tigue, and then Rogers High School. His passion was playing basketball and being devoted to his family and friends. He was a member of the Youth Usher Board at St. Marks M.B. Church.

David is survived by his wife, Akeisha Hill-Joiner, father James D. Smith of Long Beach, CA, sisters Sonya S. Smith of Cincinnati, OH and Ava Smith of Cleveland, OH, stepchildren Shawnte’ Hill-Justice and Deontre Hill, step-grandchild Tamarion Justice ; Devoted grandparents Emerson and Ella Joiner, Sr. Special Uncle Dexter Joiner. He was preceded in death by his loving mother Tonya Lynn Joiner-Smith.

Funeral services are 12:00noon Saturday, November 13, 2010 preceded by wake services at 11:00am at St. Marks M.B. Church, services by The House of Day Funeral Home. Please sign register book at
