Agnes Fisher Obituary

Agnes L. Canada- Fisher age 57, of Toledo, OH, died September 24, 2010 of complications from an reoccurrence of breast cancer. Agnes was born April 3, 1953 in St. Louis, MO, to the union of Jack and Mary Canada. She was the eldest of 8 siblings. Agnes attended school in East St. Louis, IL and graduated from East St. Louis Senior High. Agnes was a strong believer in the Bible and in God’s promises of a paradise on earth. She dedicated her life to Jehovah God and was baptized June 6, 1973, thus becoming one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Agnes and her family relocated to Toledo, OH in 1989. A person of multiple talents and skills, Agnes earned a license as a Upholsterer, Day Care Provider, and the owner and operator of Creations By Agnes Beauty Salon in Toledo, OH.


She was preceded in death by her cherished mother, Mary Wilson Canada; brother, Ozzie Canada; and nephew, Stephen Canada.


She leaves to cherish her precious memories, Her three loving children, Tonya Hunt, Danielle (Andre’) Collins, and Desmond Hicks all of Toledo, OH; Shelia Petty, whom she assisted in raising, of Toledo, OH; Her precious grand-daughter, Chloe’ Collins; Father, Jack Canada of St. Louis, MO; Sisters, Gloria (Ralph) Kimbers of Toledo, OH; Mary (Derald) Bass of St. Louis, MO; Jackie Hicks of Denver, CO; Dale (James) Singleton of St. Louis, MO, Cheryl (Albert) Bell of Belleville, IL; Brother, Jack Dylan Canada of St. Louis, MO. A devoted aunt, who was like a sister, who was with her to the end, Lela Williams of East St. Louis, IL; two devoted friends, Gloria (Albert) Harris of Leland, MS; and Mary Nunn of Toledo, OH; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she loved dearly.


Visitations will be held at the House of Day Funeral Service, 2550 Nebraska Ave. Toledo, OH 43607 on Friday October 1st from 5p.m. till 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 139 Richards Rd. Toledo, OH 43607 on Saturday Oct 2nd at 1p.m. Interment to follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. Our family wishes to extend a special thanks to those who visited and expressed their love during this difficult time.
