<p>Saul "Tony" Pettaway Jr. was born on June 27, 1955 in Toledo, OH to the late Saul Sr. and Rosetta Scurles-Pettaway. He passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday June 26, 2010. </p><p><br></p><p> Tony was a 1973 graduate of Jesup W. Scott High School. He served honorably in the U.S. Army for three years. Tony worked as a machine operator for twenty jears at Johnson Controls. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, playing dominoes, and shooting pool.</p><p><br></p><p> Tony leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Velarie; daughters, Angela and April Pettaway and stepdaughter, Venika Prater; stepdaughters, Tasha Wicks, Camesha and Camille; sister, Jacqueline Bowman; brothers, Chester, Michael (Tonya) Pettaway, and Allen Pettaway, Sr.; mother-in-law Eleanor Lott; father-in-law, Norwood Taylor; brother-in-law Robert Lott Jr; 10 grandchildren and as host of loving family members and friends.</p><p><br></p><p> Funeral Services will be Saturday July 3, 11:00am at Friendship Baptist Church 5301 Nebraska Ave. preceded by 10:00am wake service. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7pm at The House of Day Funeral Services Chapel. </p><p><br></p><p> Tony was a 1973 graduate of Jesup W. Scott High School.
