ROBINSON Bennie "Blue" Bennie Robinson, age 87, passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, May 25, 2010, surrounded by his family. He was born June 22, 1922, in Whatley, Alabama to Willie and Virgie Robinson, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by son, Jackie Robinson. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Catherine; sons, Bennie (Nicanora), Douglas (Mary), Leslie (Wendy) and Keith; daughter, Barbara (Johnny) Bush and Jackie's wife, Sandy. Also surviving are his grandchildren, great-grand children; special nephews, Antwoine Davis and John Burton; 2 sisters; 1 brother; brothers and sisters-in-law and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held Friday, May 28, 2010, House of Day Funeral Service, 2550 Nebraska Avenue. Visitation at 10 a.m. and funeral to follow at 11 a.m. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to his caregiver, Bob and Odyssey Hospice and cousins, Mary and Marvelean.
