<p>PARKER Ruth A. Ruth Adelyne Parker of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2009, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born March 4, 1928, in Dante, Virginia to Lawrence and Elma Campbell. </p><p><br></p><p> Ruth graduated from Livingston College and later taught elementary school. She married Dewitt Tate and from this union were three children. After the death of Dewitt in 1956, she moved to Toledo, Ohio where she met and married Robert Parker. From this union were two children. </p><p><br></p><p> She was preceded in death by her parents and oldest sister, Evelyne Whittington.</p><p><br></p><p> Leaving to cherish her loving memories is her husband, Robert; sons, O'Neil (Linda) Tate, Leonard Tate, Walter Parker, and step son, Robert (Claudette) Parker Jr.; daughters, Frances (Wiley) Cox, Roberta (Reginald) Rogers, and precious God daughter, Nellie (Scott) Thompson. She is survived by one sister, Jacquelyne (Dewey) Cain. Ruth leaves behind 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. </p><p><br></p><p> Ruth was a loving wife, mother and sister. She treated everyone that entered her home with nothing but kindness. Her beautiful smile will stay with us forever.</p><p><br></p><p> Visitation will be Friday, September 4, 2009, at House of Day Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday 12:00 Noon at Indiana Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the staff of The Toledo Hospital and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their kind and compassionate care.</p>
