Ms. Leslie Marie Scott of Columbia, South Carolina was born on February 23, 1959 in Toledo, Ohio. She was the youngest child of Johnny Scott and the late Imogene Scott. She departed this life on Saturday, August 15, 2009 in Columbia, South Carolina.

Leslie was a Class of 1977 graduate of Libbey High School. She received a Bachelor’s degree from Benedict College; a Master’s degree from Columbia College and at the time of her death was pursuing a Ph.D in Behavioral Psychology.

Leslie retired from Ohio Bell and relocated to South Carolina in 2002.

Leslie was baptized at an early age at the Indiana Avenue Baptist Church and was a member in good standing of the Worship Center at the time of her passing.

In addition to her mother, Leslie was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Scott.

Leslie leaves to mourn her passing her father Johnny Scott; brother, William (Penny); sisters, Johnetta (Roy) McCollough and Sandra and Shirley Scott; numerous God children, many loving relatives and caring friends, all of whom will eternally “love her more.”

A celebration of Leslie’s life will be held on Friday, August 21st at the Worship Center, 2210 Collingwood Blvd. beginning at 5 p.m.
