<p>Marvin Hollis, Sr.74, passed away Thusday, April 30, 2009 in his home. He was born on May 5, 1934 in San Augustine, Texas, to Jack and Bobbie Hollis. He attended Florence Union High School where he excelled in basketball and graduated in 1953. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served four years as a fireman in Europe. He returned to the US in 1957 and settled in Sacramento, California. He worked for Sacramento County for 35 years and after retiring worked as a Doorman for Bridge Tower Hotel. In 1968 Marvin married his first wife, Wanda, in Sacramento, and in 1995 he married Margaret Ann Williams.</p><p><br></p><p> He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ann, brothers, Herman (Rose) of Massachusetts, John (Anne), Carl (Georgia) and Walter, all of Sacramento, California, sister Celestine Young, Houston, TX, sons, Robert, Ellis Clay, Marvin Jr, Eric and Aaron Hollis, daughters, Marvina Hollis and Cheryl Hollis Farmbree, step-daughters, Sonya Johnson, Evelyn Snyder, and Pamela (Darren) Towns, 18 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.</p><p> Wake Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. followed by Funeral at 12:00 Noon at The House Of Day Funeral Service Chapel</p>
