Rena W Ray Obituary

Mrs. Rena W. Ray was born May 24, 1916 in Vanvleet, Mississippi to the union of Molly and Robert Williams. She received her formal education in Dyersburg public schools and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics from Tennessee A & I State University. She moved to Nashvillle TN and lived there until she moved to Toledo in 1957. While in college she met and married Thomas Ray in 1941 and in 1948 to this union twin daughters were born, Althea and Eddye. She confessed her faith in Christ as a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Dyersburg, TN. She became a member of Grace Presbyterian Church under the leadership of Rev. J.C. McCrae in 1959. She leaves to cherish her memory, one brother, Elisha (Ina) Williams, of Davenport, Iowa, sisters, Louise Scott and Minnie Wainwright, of Toledo, two daughters, Althea (Sam) Baldwin and Eddye (Edwin) Mabrey, four grandsons, Julian and Corey Baldwin, Christopher and Michael Mabrey, 5 great- grandchildren, one god grandson, Yarnell McCullum, of New York and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Odis Douglas and Zedie Jones.

Wake Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 12Noon followed by Funeral at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church 1171 Oakwood Ave. Toledo Pastor Bannister, Officiating
