<p>ROBINSON John Stanley John Stanley Robinson, known as Foxfire to his fishing buddies, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2009. He had been a patient at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio where he succumbed to complications from congestive heart failure. John was born to the union of Paralee and Major Robinson on January 22, 1920, in Buford, Georgia. He exhibited intense determination and strength, and a sincere faith in God's mercy all his life. At the age of 13, John decided to seek his fortune up north. He hoboed the rails and made his way to Detroit, Michigan to live with his mother's brother. Despite significant challenges, John was able to forge lifelong friendships due to his sincere loyalty and sharp wit. He was always quick with a joke or story that would keep you laughing, even though you could rarely hear it! He enlisted in the US Navy, serving as a chef, and honorably discharged in 1945. John then moved to Toledo, Ohio and worked as a presser in various dry cleaners in the city. In the early 1960's he was owner of his own dry cleaning business. He also worked at Chrysler for several years, retiring in 1986. He was a dedicated member of Christian Community Church. John was best known as a proficient angler. Every opportunity, he could be found on the water in his boat with a fishing pole in his hand. Foxfire was known far and wide on Lake Erie. He was just as passionate about cooking, which was his gift since his youth. John leaves many, many family members and friends to celebrate his life, daughters, Kay (Sterling) Burgess and Fay Robinson; granddaughters, Tymara (Bryan) Spears, Danielle (Danny) Corley and Tajé Robinson; great-grandchildren, Brooklynne and Breyon Spears; brothers, Willis Robinson Sr., Charles Robinson and sister, Lula Faye Hanks and a host of other relatives and friends. The family extends a very special thanks to Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their dedicated and skilled support. Viewing will take place on Friday, March 20, 2009, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the House of Day Funeral Service, 2550 Nebraska Avenue, Toledo, OH. The wake will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2009, at 12:00 noon, followed by the funeral at 1:00 p.m. at the Christian Community Church, 2500 Nebraska Avenue, Toledo. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park, 4210 W. Central Avenue, Toledo.</p>
