Mrs. La Vonne Townsend, 71, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Friday, July 18, 2008, in St. Luke's Hospital. Born in Toledo, Ohio on March 14, 1937, she attended Scott High School and Herron College of Beauty. She loved doing hair and was an avid card player.

She is preceded in death by mother, Doris and father, Thomas Elkins,

She is lovingly survived by aunts, Lula Mosley of Cerritos, CA, Lillian Cargile, and cousins, Rita Oliver, Thomas Oliver, Sharon Bell of Cerritos, CA, Erica Oliver and special family friend, Rhoda Jones, and other relatives and kind friends.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 22, from 4-6 p.m. in the House of Day Funeral Home on Nebraska Ave. where funeral services will be on Thursday, July 23, at 11 a.m.
