Alida Tiedemann

<p>Alida H. Tiedemann, age 77, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 due to cancer. She was born July 3rd, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York, to Hubert “Hugh” and Harriet (Mayan) Brennan. She was a graduate of Franklin K. Lane High School and went on to beauty school. She married John Tiedemann in 1965. Alida started her career at a family owned Deli business, in Brooklyn, where she worked for many years. When she moved to Freeport, New York with her family she worked at Glass Oven Bakery and then started managing the Atlantic Cleaners until she went on to work at Hempstead High School where she retired as a secretary.</p><p><br></p><p>Alida truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures of meeting friends for tea, shopping and spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and great granddaughter. Alida’s service to her fellowship was her passion. She helped many women and men through her guidance, inspiration and faith. People would describe her as loving, caring and understanding.</p><p><br></p><p>She is survived by her sister, Patricia (Pat) Bennet; two daughters, Kathleen (Kathy) Goeren and Alida (Shawn) Hutchinson; son-in-law, William (Billy) Goeren; grandchildren Alyssa Hutchinson, Danielle and husband Michael (Chat) Ott, Robert and wife Oriana Goeren; great-granddaughter Adelaide Hutchinson; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.&nbsp; In lieu of flowers please donate to the Mary Ann Tully Hospice Inn or the American Cancer Society in Alida’s name.</p><p><br></p><p>“Men with the men, women with the women.”</p>
