Daniel Patrick "Danny" Long, 54, of Madisonville, KY passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Baptist Health Deaconess in Madisonville.

   He was born April 29, 1968, in Madisonville, KY, to the late George William Long and June Freeman Long.

   Danny worked at Tyson for over 25 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and doordashing. He had a passion for smoking and cooking meat for him, and especially for others. He loved UK basketball and going for rides on backroads.

   He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Heidi VanNaarden Long; two sons, Tyler Long and Travis (Kaitlin) Long; step-daughter, Autumn (Cody) Colbaugh; brother, Richard Long; and two step-grandchildren, Dennis and Adalynn Colbaugh.

   Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Steve McVay and Dr. Jay Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Saratoga Cemetery in Lyon County, KY.

   Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

   Pallbearers will be Tyler Long, Travis Long, Cody Colbaugh, Cole Huggins, Jon Grant, and Jarrod Grant.
