<p>Selma Rae Briley passed away peacefully Saturday, November 19, 2022.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp;The funeral will be Sunday at Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park.</p><p><br></p><p>Selma was born in Pitt County to the late Clarence and Martha Tripp Briley and was a lifelong member of the Stokes Community. After high school she worked in several local industry jobs including Blue Bell Sewing Company in Bethel. In addition, Selma helped tend and manage the family farm and care for her aging parents. She was an active member of the Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Robersonville, NC.</p><p><br></p><p>Selma and her sister, Margaret, were inseparable, and Selma was a devoted sister, supporting Margaret in health challenges until her own health declined. Selma always brought a smile and joy to all those around her. She truly realized the value of positivity and the healing quality of a smile.</p><p><br></p><p>Selma was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Frances Briley Bowie; her brother, James Briley; and her sister, Margaret Briley. Selma is survived by her sister-in-law, Ruby Briley; niece, Teresa Rackley; nephew, David Briley; and grandnephews, Jordan Rackley, Will Briley, and Andrew Briley.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorial contributions may be to Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church, 5547 NC-30, Robersonville, NC 27871.</p><p><br></p>
