Isaiah Hall Obituary

Isaiah Hall was born January 7, 1932 in Coatopa, Alabama to the union of John Perkins Hall and Ida Bell May. He departed this life on Thursday, April 16, 2015 in Toledo Hospital. Isaiah accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Oak Groves Baptist in Coatopa, Alabama. He moved to Toledo in 1952. He had been a member of Calvary Baptist Church for many years. He was a member of the Male Chorus, and also a member of the City Wide Male Chorus until his health failed. Isaiah worked for the New York Central Railroad for more than 30 years. After retirement, he worked as a crossing guard for the Toledo Public Schools. Isaiah loved traveling, dining, and his hobby was talking on the CB. His handle was ‘Train Master.’ He loved volunteering for the community including the EOPA community on Belmont Street giving advice and tending the community garden. He loved people and had a great sense of humor. He could be seen at McDonald’s where he and friends met for breakfast on a daily basis. Isaiah was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Willie J Davis, brother, Howard Davis, and step-daughters, Brodie Mae Macon and Sandra K. Davis. Left to cherish his memories are wife Kitty Mitchell-Hall; 3 daughters: Melinda (Yusef) Sutton, Brenda (Michael) Duhart, Diane (Chris) Robinson; 3 step-sons: James Mitchell, III., Rodney Mitchell and Walter Davis; 5 step-daughters: Toni (Gregory) Pettaway, Mary K. Hines of Charleston, MO, Betty McClain, Diana Davis and Tracie Davis; 4 brothers: Lewis (Barbara) Hall, Harold (Roberta) Davis, Ernest (Brenda) Davis, Herman Davis; 5 sisters: Zonia (Cleveland) Sherman, Georgia H. Williams of Chicago, Illinois, Vera (James) Strange, Willie Mae Smith and Ethel M. Davis; 29 grandchildren, 36 great-grand children, and 13 great-great-grand children and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services are 11:00AM on Friday, April 24, 2015 preceded by wake at 10:00AM at Calvary Baptist Church.
