Bruce W. Rylah Obituary

Bruce W. Rylah, 84, of Pascoag, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Overlook Nursing Home, Pascoag. He was the husband of the late Fern (Young) Rylah. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Alfred and Sibella (Stephenson) (Rylah) Cree.

He is survived by a daughter, Paula R. Harthan (William) of Cornish, NH; son, Scott W. Rylah (Geraldine) of Pascoag, as well as a sister, Phyllis Robillard (Gerry) and brother Wilson Cree, both of Harrisville. Bruce leaves five grandchildren as well as two great grandchildren.

Bruce was employed at Robinson, Green & Beretta as a draftsman in Providence. He left the company to start his own construction company in the early 70's. Bruce and Fern ran Rylah Construction for many years and had built over 100 houses in the surrounding area. Bruce was very active in the community throughout his life. He served on many town boards and committees. He was an Eagle Scout and a scout leader for many years. He was a long-time member of the Rhode Island Home Builders. He was an active member of Chepachet Union Church, attending services regularly until quite recently.


Family and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 11 AM in Chepachet Union Church, 1138 Putnam Pike, Chepachet followed by a collation in the church hall. His burial will be private.  Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave., Pascoag.   In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, PO Box 61420, Staten Island, NY 10306
