T. Alverta Toussaint

<p>Alverta, age 99, formally from Southport, went to see Jesus, her Lord, after serving as a pastor’s wife in the following churches in southern Indiana: Milltown, Loogootee, Corydon, Connersville, Spencer, New York Street in Indianapolis, Cumberland and Fountaintown.</p><p><br></p><p>She was a daughter of George and Ethel Johnson, born on March 6, 1923, in Mercer County, Kentucky. On July 22, 1945, she married D. Lowell Toussaint, who served as a pastor. He passed away on July 29, 2007.</p><p><br></p><p>Besides being a pastor’s wife, after finishing her college, Alverta obtained her master’s degree, then taught elementary school for 26 years.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include David G. Toussaint of Fishers, Bobbie Lee Vore of Ashland, Ohio, and Mary Ann Maxwell of Indianapolis.</p><p><br></p><p>There are ten grandchildren: David T. Toussaint, William R. Toussaint, Jonathan Vore, Rachel Slaubaugh, Stephen Vore, Gregory Maxwell, Bryan Maxwell, Benjamin Maxwell, Peter Kennedy, and Mary Kennedy Wright</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to her husband of 62 years, Lowell Toussaint, Alverta is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.</p><p><br></p><p>Services for Alverta are Wednesday, November 23 at 11:00AM at Otterbein Senior Living- Wright Memorial Chapel, 1070 W. Jefferson St. Franklin, IN. 46131. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery. Final arrangements entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory-Greenwood Chapel.</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp;</p>
