Alfrieda (Hintz) Meiers, 83, Neenah, was called home by her Heavenly Father early on the morning of Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at Vallhaven Care Center. She was born January 1, 1927, to Ludwig and Helene (Riewe) Hintz in the town of Menasha; the first Hintz child to be born in America. Her mother wanted to name her Frieda, but her father and other relatives thought it should be Alfrieda, because they were in America. Alfrieda married Carl H. Meiers on June 22, 1946, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Neenah. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Neenah and also the Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Aid. Together they raised four children. Alfrieda enjoyed collecting cards, newspaper articles and Christmas letters. She put all of this information together and created what is fondly called "The Family Book". She enjoyed singing a
