Barbara J. Becker

Obituary Barbara J. Becker, age 70, of Menasha, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 29, 2022. Barb was born on December 26, 1951 daughter of the late Robert and Magdeline (Malenofsky) Austin. She married Dean Becker on August 27, 1976. Barb along with Dean owned and operated The Gem Roller Rink since 1988 and Skaters Edge in Appleton which they built in 1997. After Deans untimely death on October 12, 2021 Barb continued to operate the business with her family. Many will also remember Barb as the owner of Kiddie Creations, a childrens clothing store in which she created many childrens outfits, including Baptismal Gowns, First Communion Dresses, childrens costumes and many other types of outfits. Barb is survived by her children, Sue Roen (Mark Harger), Nicholas (Lucero) Becker, and Matt Becker; her grandchildren, Zachary (Jessica) Wudke, Gabrielle (Florentine) and Alyssa Roen, Mason and Mia Becker and Sebastian Echeverria; and four great-grandchildren, Emmett, Olivia, Walker and Jaxson. She is further survived by a brother, James Austin, sister-in-law, Kay (Keith) Grosskopf and brother-in-law, Mark Becker and fur baby Puss the cat, as well as Freddy and Junker the dogs. Barb was preceded in death by her husband Dean and her parents. A celebration of life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Skaters Edge, 5714 Integrity Way, Appleton. Family and friends may gather at Skaters Edge from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers we encourage you to make a donation to a local food pantry or the Woof Lodge and Rescue. The family would like to thank Fritz, the EMTs, first responders and the police for the lifesaving efforts given to Barb. We would also like to thank the employees and volunteers of Skaters Edge and The Gem Roller Rink for all they have done and also to Charles Ebben of Kleen Mark. Barb was always looking out for us at the rink. I babysat for Sue back in the 70s and spent so much time at the rink!! The Austins were family and Sue and Dean were always there for us. Barb will be missed but never forgotten.
