Eileen Rose Mink, age 91, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 27, 2016, at the Valley VNA Assisted Living in Neenah. She was born July 11, 1924, in Marathon, Wisconsin, the third oldest of eight children to Alois and Olga (Schwartz) Busko. Eileen was married to Norman A. Mink for 55 years, and they lived in Nevada, Montana, and Idaho before moving to Wisconsin in 1991. Norman died in 2001. She worked as a telephone operator, waitress and in a floral and gardening shop. Later in life she especially enjoyed floral, vegetable, and orchid gardening, along with needlework, including Brazilian embroidery, crocheting and knitting. She lovingly gave away many of her pieces to family and friends. She was known for her great style, never to be seen without her dazzling earrings and bright colors.
Eileen is survived by her two daughters: Janet Drake and Marshelle (Wally) Bergstrom; eight grandchildren: Jeanne, Laura, Will, Jennifer, Leslie, Rick, Eric and Ani; nine great-grandchildren and one sister: Dorothy Lang.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Elaine; son-in-law: Frank Drake; and infant grandson: Norman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 3, 2016, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 620 Divsion Street, Neenah with Fr. Michael Ingold officiating. The family will greet friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah. Memorials are appreciated to the Valley VNA Assisted Living, Inc. and Theda Care at Home-Hospice Care.
